Took a half serving of nyquil last night at like 9PM, slept through my 7AM alarm, and felt groggy until just a few minutes ago. But! I finally convinced my CEO to hire a candidate I like (that he originally did not want to) and I’m extending an offer today. So that really turned around my day.

Enjoying my second week of vacation that was given to me unexpectedly.

Showed up to work, was standing around for about two hours before the boss came in and told us that the company who contracted us “Didn’t know we were going to be in this week.”

So we all got sent home til next Monday.

This would be a step to that. I’ve been feeling like my F150 lately is overkill. My commute is quite short and w ith #2 coming in the next month things will get a little clamped down for the next year or so. Likely no camping trips in 2019 and even fewer house projects.

Lot going on in my mind at the moment. I’ve got a rally Capri that needs fixing (waiting until spring to work on it with my brother in law). But I’m still battling the massive urge to get jet propelled water craft. Found some cheap 2 stroke jet ski’s. 1 needs a top end rebuild due to low compression, should be easy enough.

But I also have a potential job opportunity about 800 miles away that my family would have to move for if I took it, and if we move jet skis won’t be the smart choice we’d want a boat then. currently jet skis are fine as we go out in a “fleet” of 2 pontoons a speed boat every weekend, so if 2 or 3 people want to jet ski it doesn’t impact anything, plenty of seats. but if we move jet skis won’t make sense.

the job is a bit of a long shot and i don’t know that my wife would even be comfortable pulling the trigger to move away from her family (it would be closer to my family who are about 1000 miles away).

We just bought a used Wrangler recently to replace my wife’s total ed Commander.

We’re quite happy with it so far, of course it only had 15,000 miles on it (no I’ m not missing a zero or a comma) so it should be perfect right now.

I remember seeing that. A 2008 with those low miles is unheard of. How do you feel it is on power? I’m used to a V8 and I’m worried I’ll feel like I’m putzing along. I’ve been eyeballing them off and on for a couple years and ultimately I want a Gladiator so my logic is start with a 4 door and decide in 2 or 3 years if another Jeep with a bed is a good route to go or go back to a pickup.

Yeah, the “Snowbirds” sticker on the side explains it, but it’s insane that I even found it. I suspect no one was looking for one that old, but i typically don’t care about year when searching, just set the miles low and see where I end up. Especially giving it didn’t really change much until the 3.6 came in to play.

Anyhow, we found a Rubicon, which means we get 4.10 rear gears. Helps a lot off the line lol. Definitely moves better than the overweight Commander that had a 3.7 in it. It’s not going to be as fast as an empty V8 F150 but it gets out of it’s own way just fine.

There are a couple of those close to home, so I get to have Taco John’s whenever I want . But the Hardee’s in Casper is the closest Hardee’s to Colorado, I think. If Carl’s Jr would just carry the damn Mushroom and Swiss burger I wouldn’t even care, but they won’t do it.
